Yakir Baranes
Project Coordinator
Yakir is the Project Coordinator of HSI. His responsibilities include research, social media, and organizing the society’s lectures and conferences.
Yakir holds a BA in General History and Sociology and Anthropology, and he is currently an MA student in General History at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. His research focuses primarily on the history of sex and gender in the Roman Empire and the Middle Ages.
Dr. Tséla RubelDr. Tséla Rubel is the General Secretary of the Historical Society of Israel.
Tséla is a historian specializing in Irish history. Her research interests are the Irish War of Independence and British policies, the IRA, conflict resolution, and comparative aspects of the conflict in Ireland and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
She previously worked at the Faculty of Law, the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, as the Academic Manager of the Transitional Justice Program focused on conflicts, human rights, and international law. She holds a PhD in History from Queen Mary University of London. She received her MA in History with distinction and BA in Political Science and History cum laude from the University of Haifa.
