The Historical Society of Israel and the Misgav Center for the Study of Sephardi and Mizrahi Heritage at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem invite undergraduate and graduate students from all universities and colleges who submitted seminar papers in 2024-2025 on topics related to the history of Jews in Islamic lands from the Middle Ages to the modern period, or the history of Mizrahi Jews in Israel, to submit their work to the outstanding Seminar Paper Competition.
The competition is open to papers that received a grade of 90 or above. The winning papers will be awarded a monetary prize. Prize amounts: 3,000 NIS for an undergraduate seminar paper and 4,000 NIS for a graduate seminar paper.
To apply, please send the paper as an attachment along with the following details:
- Applicant’s name
- University
- Department in which the paper was submitted
- Instructor to whom the paper was submitted
- Grade of the paper
- A summary of the paper’s significance (up to 100 words)
